White's Bodyworks provides paintless dent removal, or PDR, from our workshop in West Sussex.
PDR is a specialist method of removing suitable dents without sanding, filling or repainting the panel. Where the paint is intact and the metal has not been stretched too severely, it can restore the panel while preserving the original factory finish.
It is particularly effective for minor parking dents, door dings and other shallow damage where conventional body repair would otherwise involve unnecessary paintwork.
Paintless dent removal works best where the panel has been pushed out of shape but the paint surface remains intact.

The exact size of the dent is less important than its shape, location and what has happened to the metal.
Sharp creases, stretched metal and damage close to reinforced edges can make PDR more difficult or unsuitable.
If the paint is scratched, cracked or chipped as well as dented, our dent and scratch repair service may be the better option.
PDR reshapes the existing panel rather than covering the damage with filler.
Where access is available behind the dent, specialist rods and picks can be used to apply controlled pressure to the back of the panel, gradually returning the metal towards its original shape.
Where rear access is limited, glue-pulling techniques may sometimes be used from the outside of the panel.
The process involves many small adjustments rather than simply pushing the dent out in one movement. Working too aggressively can create high spots or stretch the metal further.
The goal is to restore the panel while leaving the original paintwork intact.
Paintless dent removal is not the right solution for every dent.
Conventional repair may be more appropriate where:
In those cases, the panel may need reshaping, preparation and refinishing rather than PDR alone.
We assess the damage first and recommend the repair method that is most likely to produce a good result rather than trying to use PDR simply because it involves less paintwork.
One of the main advantages of PDR is that the original paint remains on the vehicle.
This avoids the need to match colour, blend neighbouring panels or introduce new paint where the existing finish is still sound.
It can also reduce the amount of dismantling, preparation and refinishing required compared with a conventional dent repair.
For newer vehicles, lease cars and well-preserved vehicles, retaining the factory finish can be particularly desirable.
