As classic cars go, the Isetta bubble car is probably one of the most unusual. This is, in fact, the third one that we’ve had in our garage to restore at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex.

On the surface, this looks like a fairly fragile car with an odd shape and three wheels. It was designed as a city run around, a bit like the modern Smart car today. As with most classic cars, you never quite know what you are going to be faced with once you get into the bodywork.

That’s part of the fun!

More About the Isetta Bubble Car

Isetta was an Italian company and they began making appliances like fridges as well as scooters before branching out into the car market. They first started developing their distinctive bubble car in 1952 and it was certainly an innovation at the time.
With a length of just over 7.5 feet, it was one of the smallest mass-produced vehicles to come on the market. A top speed of just 31 mph meant it was never going to win any races but it stayed in production in various forms around the world until the early 1960s.

Car Renovations at White’s Bodyworks

If you have a classic car like the Isetta to renovate or repair, it’s important to use a garage that knows what it is doing. At White’s Bodyworks, we’ve been surprised that no less than three bubble cars have come to us in recent years.

They seem to be a favourite among classic car enthusiasts and we’re always happy to see this unusual car come across the threshold. While they have delicate bodywork and require a light touch, these are pretty robust vehicles that have stood the test of time. They’re a real collector's item.

If you would like to find out how White’s Bodyworks can help renovate your classic car or motorcycle, contact us today on 01273 933633.

Some classic cars just have perfection written all over them. The Austin Healey is thoroughly sporty and one of our favourite cars to come across White’s Bodyworks garage forecourt in West Sussex.

Any classic car that comes to us at White’s is treated a bit like royalty. The Austin Healey certainly caught the eye of our team of mechanics and they worked hard to return it to pristine condition in quick time.

A quintessentially British brand, it’s also a popular model among classic car enthusiast not just here in the UK but around the world.

About the Austin Healey

The Austin Healey car company was first established back in 1952 but in 1966 it merged with Jaguar Cars, another strong British sports car manufacturer. The first Austin Healey 100 hit the roads in 1953 and the last Mark IV was produced in 1971.

For almost 20 years it was one of the most visible sports cars on our roads.
It wasn’t just a recreational vehicle, however, taking part in many races across the years including Le Mans. The car also made a few star appearances on TV and film, showing up in popular shows like Harry O, Mad Men and more recently in the original Transformers movie.

Classic Car Restorations Home Counties

Classic cars that come to White’s Bodyworks are never straightforward. Some have major damage and need significant restoration. That can bring challenges such as finding contemporary replacement parts that have eroded.
Our aim at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex is to restore classic cars to as near perfect a condition as possible. Stripping down, repairing and respraying this Austin Healey has been a joy for our team and it’s very nearly ready to head out onto the road again.

If you have a classic car or motorbike in need of repairs or restoration, contact our expert team on 01273 933633.

Compared to other small sports car, the MG Midget enjoyed extensive popularity in the UK and was manufactured right up until the 1980s. It’s still a favourite with many classic car owners and we’ve had a few turn up at our garage for repairs and renovations.

Like many enthusiasts, we get out to many of the classic car meets around the West Sussex and Home Counties area during the year. There’s always at least one MG Midget there to admire and faun over.

About the MG Midget

This classic two-seater car was first produced back in 1961 and was a more exclusive and expensive version of the Austin Healey. It quickly became a popular car on the roads but it was a vehicle that didn’t travel abroad well.
When a model was made for the American market, the makers had to increase the ride height and add bigger bumpers to meet local regulations. That meant the car was a little more difficult to handle and wasn’t as popular in the US as it was in the home UK market.

Classic Car Repairs at White’s Bodyworks

Each classic car comes with its own challenges. At White’s Bodyworks, we always liaise closely with car owners. Some want to do a little of the work for themselves, it’s part of their passion. Others want our team of talented mechanics to work their magic.

A classic car like the MG Midget often has bodywork issues such as rust and damaged infrastructure that needs to be repaired. The good news is that sourcing new or second-hand parts for a car like this is still relatively easy.
We always try to restore cars to their original condition using the right, contemporary components. Sourcing them, in some cases, can be pretty challenging but it’s something we also excel at.

If you are thinking of buying a classic car and need a team that can carry out a full or partial renovation or repair, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex on 01273 933633 today.

We’ve seen some real classic car gems at our garage in West Sussex over the years. The Allard is probably one that got our team of experienced mechanics purring a lot more than usual. It’s not the sort of car you see that often, either on the road or on our garage forecourt for that matter.

Older classics come with their challenges but returning them to their former glory is normally a huge pleasure. We worked closely with the car owner to make sure we were being faithful to the original specs when carrying out the restoration.

Sourcing spare parts can be a problem with a car this old but fortunately, we have great connections not only here in the UK but around the world.

More About the Allard

The Allard Motor Company was a well-known London manufacturer of high-end cars with American engines that began in 1946. The company was short-lived, however, closing for business just 12 years later.

Over a short period, Allard produced quite a few different models, including sports cars aimed at the American market.
These were quickly developing times for the vehicle manufacture market, however. Others were investing in lighter and cheaper models for mass production. This eventually led to the motor company gong out of business, having produced a little under 2,000 cars in total.

At White’s Bodyworks, we have all the expertise and onsite equipment to deal with any classic car or motorbike restoration and we pride ourselves on being one of the leading garages in the UK.

Few cars have made us smile as much as this Sunbeam Alpine that came to us quite recently. At first glance, this is a car that has certainly been well looked after but it did need a decent amount of work to repair a some damage that was hidden from view.

Classic car owners often come to use even if they have only a minor issue or two with the vehicle simply because they know they can trust us. The owner of this Sunbeam Alpine certainly wanted a garage with a lot of experience. Fortunately, that’s just what we provide at White’s Bodyworks.

More About the Sunbeam Alpine

You may not have heard of the Rootes Group if you aren’t a fan of classic cars. They were a Warwickshire company that operated from the 50s through to the 70s. The Sunbeam Alpine was first launched in 1953 and the two-door sports car became quite popular in Europe and America.

You might catch a glimpse of the car on Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief but it was never really a make that caught on with the jet set. The Alpine name was briefly resurrected in the mid-70s but by then there were other, better cars on the market.

The Professional Classic Car Garage

It’s always nice to get a car like this coming onto our forecourt. The Sunbeam Alpine is a fairly small vehicle and this two-seater reminded us of the old fashioned Spitfire. As we do with any classic car, we talked extensively with the owner about what their expectations were.

Fortunately, in this case, the owner had a clear idea of what needed doing and we were happy for them to take the lead. If you have a classic car and looking for a garage that you can count on, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks today on 01273 933633.

White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex have seen their fair share of high-end classic cars over the years. It’s something we’ve got a bit of reputation for helping with when it comes to garage repairs.

Our quality repairs and restoration require us to pay attention to detail and work closely with vintage car owners to realise the best outcomes.

There’s nothing better than bringing a classic back to life so that it looks like it just came off the production line. Lamborghini are one of the most notable high-end car brands of the last 50 years. You can imagine an A-lister Hollywood movie star driving this particular vehicle down some sun-drenched boulevard.

More About this 1970s Lamborghini

Lamborghini is an Italian brand which focuses almost exclusively luxury vehicles (although, strangely) it did also make tractors). We’re talking hundreds of thousands for a new model. The company began way back in the 50s but it wasn’t until the mid to late 60s that it really began to get the luxury car tag.

This particular model was built when Lamborghini was going through some severe financial difficulties and control of the company was actually sold off in 1972. That didn’t stop the business going into administration in 1978, however.

What White’s Bodyworks Did

This 1970s Lamborghini Espada was certainly a collectors item but it did require a lot of restoration and renovation. Part of our job at White’s Bodyworks is ensuring that we source the right parts and make practical decisions regarding the integrity of the car. We want to return it to as near the original condition as possible.

It’s important with any vintage vehicle like this to work closely with the owner and keep them appraised of what we are doing. It’s something we’re more than happy to do at White’s Bodyworks. Once the final respray was done, this Lamborghini really did look as good as new.

If you need a renovation or repairs on your classic car, contact the team today on 01273 933633.

This is the forth Isetta Bubble Car that has come to us at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex. It’s an amazing little vehicle and a classic that looks really distinctive. We suspect it was quite space-age at the time but maybe not so much today.

This model was certainly in a pretty poor state of disrepair and required a good deal of work before it was ready to go out on the road again. Classic cars are often discovered decaying away in someone’s garage or back yard and it takes a lot of love and attention to restore them in the spirit of the original design.

About the Isetta Bubble Car

One of the first-ever microcars, the Isetta was an Italian design but was made in many countries around the world including Argentina, the UK and Spain. It was highly efficient, covering 94 miles per gallon and over 161,000 units were sold around the globe.

The little bubble car did have its downsides though. For a start, it took nearly half a minute to get up to around 30 miles an hour and its top speed was only a meagre 50 mph. This was a great car for big towns and cities at the time, however, not least for ease of parking. It measured just 7.5 feet in length.

Classic Car Renovation at White’s Bodyworks

Of course, there was a lot of work to do here, not least repairing the bodywork and giving the whole thing a respray. Repairs and replacement to the engine also took a good deal of effort. It’s always difficult for a fairly rare model such as this but there’s great satisfaction to be achieved from fully restoring it.

If you have a classic you want to restore, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex on 01273 933633.

One of the services that we pride ourselves on at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex is the respray and paintwork repair that we do.
There might be any number of reasons you want a respray. You might simply just want to change the colour of your car. There may be dents and dings or other, more severe, damage that you want to put right.

This MG TF is an example of the type of work we do at White’s on a regular basis. It’s a full-body respray which involves removing unnecessary structures, prepping the surface carefully and then carrying out the paintwork in our specially designed and fully equipped respray workshop.

More About the MG TF

The MG TF is a roadster class vehicle and was produced between 2002 and 2005 before production moved to China. Development continued up until 2011. It’s the archetypical sports car for British roads, a compact powerhouse with a soft-top roof that makes it a perfect choice for those country drives.

Car Respray Experts You Can Count On

A lot of garages offer respray services and some of them are pretty good. It’s important, however, to find the right garage that has the appropriate equipment and respray facilities on site. You also want to be sure that the mechanics and operatives actually know what they are doing.

Respraying isn’t all about knowledge and training, it’s about experience too. Part art and part technical, it takes a lot of time and effort to become accomplished as a car respray technician. At White’s Bodyworks we make sure the right team is in place and that they have all the facilities they need to deliver a high-quality respray.

Preparation is key for any respray work. Even a minor imperfection can make a huge difference to the final finish. That’s especially important with a high-end vehicle like this MG TF.

If you want to respray your car, it’s vital to talk to the experts. Contact the team at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex on 01273 933633 today to find out how we can help.

At White’s Bodyworks in Sussex, there’s always a lot of excitement when a vintage car comes across the forecourt of our garage. It’s something we have a certain expertise in and the reason why so many owners come to us.

Not only can we handle repairs and servicing for modern vehicles, we’ve gained a reputation across West Sussex and the surrounding Home Counties for providing quality renovations and repairs for classic cars and motorbikes.

This vintage MG TF is a good example. When you hear the initials MG, you immediately have an image of a nice, low slung sports car, one that was typically on the roads during the 60s and 70s. The TF and TF1500 Midget went into production in the early 1950s and this is simply a beautiful, classic car that really looks great on the road.

More About the Vintage MG TF

It’s not just the exterior of this amazing car that we liked at our garage in West Sussex. The interior harks back to a bygone age and is really amazing to see if you are a classic car lover. The model was produced between 1953 and 1955 and just under 10,000 cars came off the assembly line during that time.

Nowadays, of course, it’s a fairly rare vehicle to see on the roads. Owners, quite sensibly, take a lot of time to choose the right garage to work with when they have a car such as this.

White’s Bodyworks Vintage Car Restoration

Over the last few decades, White’s Bodyworks has been proud of its growing national reputation for delivering quality renovations, restorations and repairs for classic cars and motorbikes.

For this particular Vintage MG TF, we were tasked with restoration and repairs. It’s a huge responsibility, of course, and one which we take very seriously. That also means working closely with the owner to make sure we are meeting their needs and delivering on expectations.

If you have a classic car and want to find a garage you can really rely on, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks today on 01273 933633.

The repairs that we get asked to carry out at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex vary widely. We can handle major restorations or renovations for classic cars or much more minor work for a vehicle that is otherwise in great condition.

Such was the case with this Honda CB500. We were tasked here with repairing the chrome brackets on the headlights which had been damaged over time. While the job was fairly small, it’s an example of where expertise and skill matters quite a lot.

That’s something we have a fair bit of at White’s and it’s why classic motorbike and car owners come to us from far and wide.

More About the Honda CB500

The Honda CB500 was produced between 1971 and 1978 and was a light but powerful bike that did well on the US market as well as here in the UK. It’s certainly a good looking bike and a favourite with motorcycle enthusiasts who prefer something traditional and substantial that more modern bikes don’t deliver.

With an electric start and a top speed of 100 mph, the bike won the TT production race on the Isle of Man when it was ridden by Bill Smith in 1973.

White’s Bodyworks and Classic Motorbikes

Not all the work we get asked to do at White’s Bodyworks involves a major effort on the part of the classic bike and car team. The headlights are fairly small and this was quite an intricate job that involved chrome painting the lamp brackets.

The rest of the bike was in pretty good condition and had been well looked after over the years. However careful you are to protect your classic bike or car, natural wear and tear will eventually take its toll. At White’s Bodyworks, our aim is to produce the quality renovations you are looking for which is why we always work closely with owners.

If you are searching for an experienced and skilled garage to handle your classic car or bike repairs, contact us on 01273 933633.

It’s amazing how a respray can change the look of a classic motorcycle. This BSA Thunderbolt is a pretty nice bike but it had seen some better days.

The good news is that White’s Bodyworks is fully equipped to handle all kinds of resprays, whether it’s on a new car or a vintage motorcycle. The Thunderbolt is a point in question. Getting the petrol tank and side panels back to pristine condition has a lot to do with good preparation.

More About BSA 650 Thunderbolt

This is an amazing bike and one of our personal favourites. The bikes were produced between 1962 and 1972, had a top speed of over 100 mph and 46 bhp. You’ll see a good few of these still on the road even today, despite it being a classic.

That’s because the Thunderbolt was built to last. It’s unfortunate that from the 70s onwards the company struggled against competition from overseas manufacturers like Honda which were making great headway.

Resprays at White’s Bodyworks

Any good respray comes down to the preparation. It’s the skill and expertise of the person doing the work that counts. If you are searching for a perfect paint job, then it’s important to choose your garage well.

At White’s, we have a longstanding reputation for delivering high quality at a competitive price. We pay attention to every little detail, which is vital if you are carrying out a respray. We handle everything from full car and van resprays to smaller jobs like this where it was just the petrol tank and side panels that needed doing.

If you are looking for a respray, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks today on 01273 933633.

The Jaguar XJR is a classic that exudes a lot of style. It’s the sort of car we love to see in White’s Bodyworks and this one was no exception. Popular with the luxury end of the market it’s also another vehicle that finds it’s way onto our TV screens once in a while.

Dealing with a luxury renovation such as this requires a lot of knowledge, skill and the right equipment. Fortunately, it’s something we’ve got tonnes of at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex. Oftentimes it’s not just taking into account the body of the car and the infrastructure but the wiring and technology that goes along with it.

More About the Jaguar XJR

Going from 0 to 60 in around 5.6 seconds makes the Jaguar XJR one of the more powerful saloons on the market for those who love their high spec vehicles. Capable of a top speed of 155 mph, it’s a good looking, distinctive car and has been a favourite since it first came onto the market in the early 1990s.

Nearly thirty years later and new XJRs are still coming off the assembly line. Tuned for premier league performance, it’s a ride that delivers comfort and style.

Renovation and Repair on the Jaguar XJR

The good news is that we have all the equipment and garage space to provide the best classic car renovation services. Whether it’s working on the bodywork or to repair areas of rust, faulty engines or carrying out a classic car respray, the reason customers come to us again and again is that we understand what’s required and we know how to deliver.

If you have a classic car and need a garage you can rely on, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks today on 01273 933633.

One of the most iconic cars on British roads in the last 50 years has been the Mini. While the newer versions seem to ooze potential and power and are chunkier than their forebears, we like nothing better than to see a classic Mini Cooper design coming into our garage.

The low clearance and box size epitomises what this brand was all about in the 60s and 70s when it really was in its heyday. Like many vintage vehicles we see at White’s Bodyworks, however, time on the road causes all sorts of minor dings and dents.

This Rover Mini Cooper that came to us recently is no exception. Fortunately, we’ve got a lot of experience with this make of car and all the equipment and garage space you’d expect to see from a premier repair and renovation service for vintage vehicles.

More About the Rover Mini Cooper

It was the iconic sports car of the 60s but the Mini Cooper was reintroduced into the 90s and became an instant success. Ideal for zipping around city streets where parking was at a premium, it was also able to satisfy those who wanted a sporty car to impress their friends.

Ultimately made popular by The Italian Job, it’s a model that the British public have never really fallen out of love with.

What We Did for the Rover Mini Cooper

A lot of the damage you see with many vintage cars is underneath the surface. It’s important to know your way around a particular make or model if you offer restoration services.

As you can see from the images, our job was to strip the car down and then carry out repairs. That was completed by a professional respray to make this Rover Mini Cooper look as good as new.

If you have a classic Mini and need repairs, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks on 01273 933633.

At White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex, we’re used to seeing some classics and vintage cars driving into our garage in Hassocks. This 1940 Allard M-Type, however, was something else altogether.

Any restoration of an old car is something to take seriously. The older the car, however, the greater the responsibility can be, especially if you need to find new parts that are no longer made. It takes a specialist team to deal with a car like this and plenty of expertise.

Over the years, we’ve handled restorations and repairs for all sorts of vehicle and motorbikes. Each new car brings it’s own challenges, whether that’s the bodywork or the mechanical workings.

More About the 1949 Allard M-Type

Sydney Allard’s cars were the height of fashion when they were created in the post war era. Souped up with a tremendous American V8 engine, it actually took part in racing events including Le Mans. The power to weight ratio of the vehicle (it’s frame was lightweight and English) meant that this was the high performance sports car of its time and it’s certainly a real collectors item.

The success of Allard was relatively short lived and by the mid 50s the company was in serious financial trouble. It went into administration in 1957 and never really recovered. In 2011, however, the Allard name rose briefly again and, after legal action, began to trade again in September of 2018.

What We’re Doing at White’s Bodyworks

The Allard came to us in September this year and is undergoing a complete assessment to see what needs to be done. At White’s Bodyworks, we always do this in close liaison with the car owner, working where we can to get the car back to as original a condition as possible.

The key to our success undoubtedly comes down to our fully equipped garage in Hassocks, West Sussex. But we’re also a team that has a lot of experience and understanding of dealing with vintage cars of all types, including the 1949 Allard M-Type.
If you have a classic car that needs some work, contact the team at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex on 01273 933633.

We’re not just about classic cars at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex. There are plenty of bike enthusiasts in and around the Home Counties and we get a good few interesting makes such as this sleek Laverda RGS coming our way.

When it first came onto the market over 25 years ago, the Laverda was a pretty interesting bike that mixed a powerful looking frame with a really dynamic and futuristic design. It’s the sort of bike you are probably likely to see shooting down the interstate in America rather than on English roads.

At White’s Bodyworks, we love to see a classic bike and this one from the early 80s also brings with it a brilliant sense of nostalgia.

More About the Laverda RGS

Laverda is actually one of the oldest brands in Europe and it began making agricultural engines in 1873. The Italian company expanded after the Second World War and started producing iconic motorcycles, at first focusing on small capacity machines that were great for getting around town.

It wasn’t until the 60s that the company began branching out into bigger, more powerful models and the type of mean machine we see today. While the 1982 Laverda RGS looked the part, however, it was underpinned by some old technology that was about 10 years out of date at the time. Japanese models coming onto the market had far more sophisticated engines and they were cheaper too.

Those who bought the bike were impressed with it’s throaty, almost muscular sound (just what you want in a bike) and it remains a collectors item today.

Respraying the Laverda RGS

One of the most common jobs we often see at White’s Bodyworks with motorbikes, especially classic models, is respraying or repairing the panels and petrol tank. These are areas that can take a good deal of pounding over the years.

The key thing here is to carry out the repairs and do all the preparation beforehand. A good paint job depends on having a smooth surface to work. If there are any minor defects, they are really going to be noticeable when the paint has dried.

If you have a motorbike and it needs repairs or a respray, contact our expert team on 01273 933633 today.

As you might expect, at White’s Bodyworks our big passion is cars and motorbikes. So when this 1928 Morris Cowley came over the threshold of our garage you can imagine how we were all gathered around it, taking a good look.

When a classic car comes to us, whatever it’s vintage, we can never be quite sure what the job is going to be. Some require minor repairs, others are looking at a complete renovation. This Cowley has been pretty well looked after and lovingly restored by its owner.

Some classic car owners like to do much of the work themselves when it comes to renovations but they use us for the more complicated or specialist stuff or things that require a fully equipped workshop.

The 1928 Morris Cowley

The Morris Cowley was the budget vehicle of it’s time, though was still too expensive for ‘ordinary folk’. It was similar to the more expensive Oxford and had 8.9hp engines designed by White and Poppe. The make was first introduced to the roads in 1915 and had an American influence on its design.

Despite it’s cheaper price, reviews at the time suggested that it was a car that was well able to punch above its weight and compared well to the slightly classier Oxford.

As you might expect, there aren’t that many 1928 Morris Cowleys around anymore so this one was a pleasure to see in our garage in West Sussex.

Renovating the 1928 Morris Cowley

The work we were carrying out on this particular model involved renovating the petrol tank. More like a bath than a modern tank, we stripped down the metal and carried out repairs and then completed everything with a respray in black.

When you’re dealing with a classic car such as this, it’s really important to make sure that you don’t damage the integrity and heritages of the vehicle. As far as possible, traditional techniques work well, so no fibreglass here to repair damaged areas – just old fashioned metal.

The Home Counties and Sussex are filled with classic car enthusiasts and finding a garage that can handle everything that needs to be done can be difficult. At White’s Bodyworks, we have decades of experience working with a range of vintage car repairs, servicing and renovation.

While not a complete classic when it comes to cars that pass through our forecourt at White’s Bodyworks in Sussex, the TVR Tuscan has all the hallmarks you might expect to find in one.

It’s a sleek looking sports car which sets the heart thumping if you’re a car enthusiast. TVR had a bit of a chequered history when it came to sports car but they certainly knew how to create a good looking design.

TVR Tuscans were produced between 1999 and 2006 and there were a host of different engine options available. This one came to our garage a little while ago and was in need of a chassis restoration and repair, something our team excel at.

It’s a pretty common issue with this make of car – it has steel tubing wrapped in a protective layer which can erode over time. It’s not unusual to find areas of rust and our job here was to strengthen and repair the parts where that rust had taken hold.

The TVR Chassis Repairs

A full scale refurbishment of a TVR chassis is not a simple undertaking. It requires stripping, blasting and repairing damaged areas and then reapplying a protective coat. It’s something that needs a mechanic who knows what they are doing.
Most TVRs don’t get through their life without some issue with this area and it’s a good idea to keep an eye on your chassis area if you own one.

If it’s been a while since this area of the car was checked out, you might want to get it down to a reputable garage for a quick once over.

History of the TVR Tuscan

Off the production line, the TVR Tuscan was capable of doing 0-60 in about 3.68 seconds and it’s the kind of car that looks like it should be on a racetrack. Fans of the movie Swordfish might have noticed the car in a scene or two of the movie.

The TVR Tuscan is fairly typical of classic cars that come to us and require some specialise work undertaking. Repairing the chassis is something that requires a good deal of expertise, as you might expect. The good news is that’s something White’s Bodyworks has plenty of!

If you need repairs to your car and want a garage you can trust, contact White’s Bodyworks on 01273 933633.

There’s nothing that exudes as much class as a Bentley. It’s a vehicle that has luxury and style written into its DNA. In the past, the Bentley was definitely a sign of success and prosperity. If you were driving one, you’d made it.

This Bentley Turbo R came to us for a variety of work including welding and fabrication, bodywork and updating the paintwork. When it comes to a high-class car like this, you can’t afford to give the work over to an ordinary garage.

At White’s Bodyworks in Sussex, we have the full range of garage facilities and a team that really understands classic cars. Whether it’s repairing bodywork or sprucing up the paintwork, we have the team in place to do the job.

More About The Bentley Turbo R

You might wonder what the R stands for. Apparently, it’s ‘road-holding’. This is a high-performance car that was produced between 1985 and 1999 and was driven by plenty of celebrities at the time.

According to its fans, this car delivered one of the most comfortable rides you could imagine, which is probably why it was so popular among businessmen and politicians alike. With its plush interior and solid body, it’s a car that you can’t mistake as it drives down the road.

What We Did With the Bentley Turbo R

This is a high-end car and you can understand why the owner had a pretty strong attachment to it. Fortunately, at White’s Bodyworks we understand with each project that this is the owner’s pride and joy. Taking care is important with anyone’s car especially when you’re carrying out major work.

There were numerous bits of restoration that we needed to carry out on this particular Bentley Turbo R, including fabricating some damaged bodywork. The final stage of updating the paintwork was only carried out once all the other work had been completed.

If you have a classic car and you are looking for a specialist garage that really understands classic cars, contact our expert team at White’s Bodyworks on 01273 933633.

If you have a classic car, you want it to be looked after when it needs a visit to the local garage. The last thing you want is a team that doesn’t understand or really what they’re doing, using the wrong methods or materials to repair your vintage vehicle.

At White’s Bodyworks, we have a long track record of classic car restoration and repair. One recent example is this delightful MG MGA which came in for a panel fabrication.

There are few cars that evoke images of the late 50s and 60s than this MG with it’s soft top roof and elongated bonnet. It’s the kind of classic car you could imagine running down to the Cannes film festival in, hobnobbing with the stars.

History of the MG MGA

The MGA first hit our streets way back in 1955 and was sold until it’s production ended in 1962. The original body design came from a model that was built for the 24 hours Le Mans race in 1951. When the MGA first came into our garage at White’s Bodyworks it certainly elicited a few expressions of awe from our experienced team.

There’s nothing our classic car team like to see than a vehicle that is steeped in history and really looks the part. The MGA is the kind of car you immediately want to sit in and get a feel for.

Panel Fabrication for the MGA

Creating a new panel is no easy job, especially when you’re dealing with a classic car like this. As we always do, we worked closely with the owner to work out a plan of action and cost up the job and give a realistic estimate of how long it was going to take.

Classic car panel fabrication is an art in itself and it’s not the type of repair job that you find in any ordinary garage. Luckily, the team at White’s Bodyworks really know what they are doing.

There’s nothing like a respray to bring an old classic back to life. Once all the renovation work has been done and your vintage vehicle is ready to hit the road, this is one thing you really need to do if you want the bodywork to look complete.

It literally creates that wow factor that makes your car look great when it first goes out on the road. This Austin A55 Cambridge was a point in question. A classic car in every sense, we loved it from the moment it drove onto our forecourt in West Sussex.

We handle a lot of resprays for both modern and classic cars at White’s Bodyworks and we love to see an old vehicle like this suddenly look like it’s just popped off the manufacturing line.

More About the Austin A55 Cambridge

The Austin Cambridge range were quintessentially English cars and probably some of the popular motors on the roads during the 50s and 60s. The A55 first hit the roads in 1957 and 154,000 were made before it ceased production.

You might be surprised that it took all of 27 seconds to get the A55 from 0 to 60 and it only had a top speed of about 77 miles per hour. If you were looking for a top of the range sports car, this wasn’t it. At a cost of just £871, it was on the slightly more expensive side for a family car but it was still a popular model.

What We Do At White’s Bodyworks

Key to any respray is the preparation that goes into everything before the paint is actually put on. It’s what separates the professional garage from the rest. That means, first of all, stripping the existing paintwork and then carrying out repairs.

Smoothing down the surface can take a lot of hard work but if you want a great finish you can’t skimp on this part of the job. Once this classic car is ready to be painted, it’s not all finished. Choosing the right paint for a classic model like this is important for the final look.
